You're taking directions... from a dog.

First, I just have to say that the cut text is INSPIRED. Therefore, I counter with my 80s-flashback of choice.

If I overdid it, please let me know. :)

To start off:
Name: Erin
Age: 28

Favorite color: Heliotrope. It's a light shade of purple and a long-standing, fandom-specific joke that took off and has my mother constantly asking me if "this is heliotrope?" or telling me that she "told someone that you liked heliotrope"... So, basically: Purple. With Blue so hot on its heels that it could be a tie. o.O

Pick five words to describe yourself: boring, geek, dependable, nerd and witty -Hey... you asked-

What do you consider your strengths?: My work ethic (even if it is my cursed downfall), which my brother shares, and we both got from our parents. What? You have free time? Well, hell! Go to work. Get that job done because it won't do itself. ... o.O Sorry about that ;) Um... I have a mind like a steel trap, which can also fit the next one, I suppose. I'm also pretty good at sticking to my convictions (I think...). Oh! And I can alphabetize your DVD and CD collections in about 10 minutes, but I’m not OCD or anything… just anal :D

What do you consider your weaknesses?: My work ethic, which my brother- Yeah... I'm also fairly spineless, but I’m getting better. Still processing the concept of the word "No" and how to use it. And, as Jim Carrey says in Batman Forever: Stress! It'll kill ya! I also have a slight problem with getting drooly over certain members of a profession based on the west coast and it’s getting worse... But I'm sure it's just me because, really... *snort*

List any talents you have: I can quote Mel Brooks, Dane Cook, Jim Gaffigan and Jeff Dunham pretty easily... not to mention 85% of the movies out there. And, sadly, I can tell you who's in a movie with someone else without having seen the movie, or the title or a situation or the color of their shirt. Seriously! You’d think there was SOME way I could make money with this useless talent... I'm fairly good (self-taught) with computers. Not the programming, mind you, but troubleshooting and actual hardware. Seriously, I can have your computer taken apart in about five minutes.

This or that questions .. (all of these should have a why at the end of them)
Are you impulsive or do you think things through before you act? Well... I'm going with NO and NO. Here’s why: Impulsive would require me to have a spine, as well as nerve/guts/whatever. Some Gryffindor I turned out to be! That's funny, too... because as time goes by and I think about it, I'm really more of a Hufflepuff... but that's a different fandom altogether. I’m not so much a "planner," but I do go through the list of 'why' and 'why not.' Perfect example: My Mother wants to go to St. Petersburg to see some random distant-relative. Just for fun. I really don't. I was –kinda- hoping to sit on my butt all day and *cough*force*hack* work on some chapters. If I was impulsive, I probably would have asked her five minutes before if she wanted to go to Tampa to the casino. But that would be counter-productive to MY goal. However, as I am spineless, and she’s got THAT tone... looks like I'm going to St. Petersburg. o.O She's gonna get angry, however, when I demand that she calls this random relative to make sure she's home. I'm not losing a day for NOTHING. ...she just informed me that she does NOT have a phone number, and she "doubts they ever go anywhere." *facepalm*

Did that actually answer the question? o.O

Do you work quickly to get things done or do you take your time and make sure it's done right? *snort* Sorry... that was just too funny... *sigh* I need to break this down between Job #1 and Job #2, as my work ethic for each are at polar opposites.

Job #1: I research road maps. It takes a while. Usually, I can get data from the city or county in question, and sometimes I have to sift through addresses and aerial images. Some days I get into a groove and zip right through it. Others, I spend doing everything but *glances at Tin Man fandom and my AOL list* Granted, I'm somehow the 'Go-to' girl now, as well, so I'm always getting bombarded with questions I don’t know the answers to and am the only one on staff who can find the answers... So, I take my time. Whether or not it's done right is another topic because I honestly have no clue what I'm doing half the time and wing it. Which is sad in and of itself, as I'm the Senior Researcher and am responsible for training four other researchers.

Job #2: I drive a boat. Captain a boat, pilot a boat... whatever. It's a four-hour shift that I only work three hours of. I get paid to show up, drive a boat and watch fireworks. It's a CAKEWALK. Easiest job at Disney. It's also the bane of my existence. Now, don’t get me wrong. I love working for Disney. Wouldn't want any other job (except for a shot at the Disney archives or the construction office, but whatever!) But, after four years (Today!), I'm so sick and tired of it... I get in, I take five minutes to prepare the boat – and get peeved every time someone hands me my checklist when I'm heading for the boat. I don't NEED the checklist. It hasn't changed in FOUR years and I know what I need to do. Don't presume I don't, just because you drive the fancy boat. I've been here LONGER THAN YOU. ...

Sorry, again. :)

Do you prefer to work in a group or by yourself? I'm a loner. Always have been. That guarantees that the work gets done and done to my expectations. Had to get burned a few times to get there, but it works.

Are you an optimist or pessimist? TOTAL pessimist, with just a touch of Always look on the bright side of life *whistles* If the glass is half-empty, there's plenty of room left to fill it up. And minimal expectations always leave you room to be pleasantly surprised.

UNLESS we're referring to anything remotely related to Tin Man, then I'm the biggest optimist on the planet because LJ-notifications in my mailbox are my CRACK. Really.

Do you stick to your beliefs or are you willing to change them? I tend to stick to my guns. But, if a decent argument is presented, I'm willing to change. I prefer to look at both sides of the argument. That being said, you'd think I actually might follow politics and all that. But why bother when there's fandom to abuse? o.O

Leader or follower? Follower by choice. Leader by default. I just hope I can do the position justice for all involved.

Dreamer or realist? I really hate this question. Isn't everyone a dreamer? On some level? Any level? I'm going with realist *points up to last few questions* Dreaming will only get you so far. Rodgers and Hammerstein had a brilliant take on the subject: "That's the problem with most people. They dream about what they want to do instead of really doing it." If I lived in a dream world, I'd be surrounded by far too many people from far too many fandoms and, while I may have some FANTASTIC ideas for Steve, my plotPapay... I live in the real world. Therefore, I have my fandoms to escape. I fear having fandoms and wanting to escape to the real world.

Friends or family? Depends on the situation, honestly. I mean, isn't the answer always family, first, and friends second? Everyone's family is insane and that'll never change. But, honestly, family just won't understand the finer points of a debate about the subtle mechanics of a pair of tight brown pants and how they could possibly relate to the psyche of a young, headstrong (and slightly confused) brunette who's been dumped into a situation she really doesn’t understand.

See. You know EXACTLY what I'm talking about...

Extroverted or introverted? Introvert... I think. o.O Unless I'm online, and I seem to become Miss OMG-Look-at-Me! :D

-Mom's getting angry because I "can do this any time. We need to go." *eyeroll* I'll have to finish this later. Which will give me a chance to reconsider my earlier answers... as I think they didn't really answer the questions... o.O-

Okay... we're back. It wasn't so bad. I mean, what's an hour and twenty drive to stand in the yard for ten minutes and then leave and spend another thirty to get to the casino to spend twenty inside (literally, we spent $20) and another thirty to get back to the interstate and an hour plus back?! *eyeroll again*

Moving on...

Situational ..
Imagine you are Cain. Would you have let Zero live or would you have killed him for the pain he caused you and your family? Why? I would have let him live. I can hold a grudge with the best of 'em, but when it comes right down to it, that pesky thing we call a conscience would nag and nag and not let me follow through. Though I may not have been as quick on the 'throw him in the suit'-uptake. Sheer genius on Cain’s part. *nods*

Now imagine you're DG. Upon learning that Tutor had been giving your location away to Azkadelia, what would you have done? Why? Wonder why Az hasn't shown up yet to kill us all, honestly. But, let's face it: I've only known the man for a few hours and have no memories of him and I'm taking Cain’s earlier advice of "Trust no one." Whatever you say, Mulder... You’re runnin' this show, mainly because you know where we're going. And you have the gun.

With no more bullets because you fired them all at the Papay. Wait! Why is he leading us, again?

Characters ..
Which is your favorite character? Why? The Mystic Man. I've always been a fan of the Wizard, and while I’m not Richard Dreyfuss' biggest fan, he had me sold. I just wish he and Cain and DG had more scenes together... because oh the possibilities of plot bunnies with their history. I also love Hank – he reminds me of Arthur Weasley (who also rocks). He’s all business when Mom is around, then turns into a big kid the second she’s gone even if he was under the influence of the witch

Which character did you like the least? Why? Afiroday bugged me. I mean, I understand her part in the whole let's-get-DG-to-Ahamo thing... and her scene in the box was funny. But she just was annoying. And her Jack Sparrow-eyelid thing was kinda freaky, too. I was also wigged-out by the guy wearing yellow rubber. Because of the yellow rubber.

Which character(s) do you feel you would get along with best? Why? Probably Raw. We both have a tendency to stay in the background and keep quiet, avoiding feeling "feelings." But, threaten usme and oursmine and WATCH OUT! I'll introduce you to Gryffindor!Erin... and I could keep up with Glitch, when he's in tech-y mode; and DG, at the diner or discussing Australia. I'd also probably be more content to be following Cain and Jeb around No, not like that!, building cabins and working outdoors. Give me a hammer and point me to the construction site.

Which character(s) do you believe you would never be friends with? Why? Ambrose, because once I stop understanding the techno-babble, I lose interest. DG, because I'm not a gearhead. I appreciate the beauty of a Harley, but I'm much more content to pop in Phantom Menace and listen to the pod race. And I'm too much of a tomboy to hang around Az for very long. Unless, post-witch, she's more like DG (which I doubt).

Do you have a favorite pairing? Why do you think they would be good together? For Tin Man? Or the Oz-fandom, in general? I'm Cain/DG, all the way. Whether either of them admit it, they're perfect together. She wants adventure and he needs to have someone to protect. The O.Z. has 'grown up' without them, and they're strangers in a strange land. Whether they are just friends or more (which I would see happening down the road, not the next day), those two have one hell of a connection.

I also appreciate the perfection of Cain/Adora – because you know they were PERFECT. Cain may have spent however long in the suit coming to grips with Jeb and Adora being dead, but the moment Zero let slip that they were still alive... And then to have his heart broken again when he found the grave, and knowing that Jeb was out there somewhere. Personally, I think their reactions in the woods were perfect, too: Holy crap. You really are alive and how ironic that we would meet up with you here, in the woods, while you're not rescuing us, but aren't we lucky that the man you're out to kill captured us and tied us to this big log and brought us right to you so that we could find each other and we can have an awkward moment or two before I abandon you for a girl and then covertly guilt you into helping the four of us save the O.Z., winging it using a dog, a hug and the seat of our pants!

Random ..
Would you sacrifice yourself for the good of others? Why? No. I'm a coward. I avoid confrontation at all costs and, honestly, if the good of the world is based solely on my actions... well, someone f-d up the universe. *nods* But, I will gladly stand back and tell you all the reasons why sacrificing myself wouldn't help the cause. Because, really: do you want to risk the universe on me? Really? o.O

What would you say is the biggest obstacle you've overcome? Filling this out... I mean- I always said (as a joke) that I wanted to work for Disney. Two weeks after I graduated college, I started work at Walt Disney World. It didn't exactly work out the way I'd hoped, but it let me prove that I could do it. I've made some friends, I've lost some friends. I've seen the way REAL life is and I've survived it. And I’ve has some amazing moments due to the experience. Hell, I've met Lando Calrissian! No, seriously, I have a picture of me with Billy Dee Williams.

Anything else you think we should know about you? I realize that this is probably WAY more than you ever wanted to know about me. Glancing over some of the other posts, I think I went into too much detail. But, I blame hogwarts_elite for that. Their sorting process is hard-core. As for something I want you to know about me...

I have never had so much fun in my life, thanks to Tin Man and this group of crazies. And I mean that in the most respectful and awe-inspiring way. Forgive the fangirling for a moment and just take the compliment, because you guys make me look at my inbox forward to each day. *hugs* and Caingerbread all around!!!

Aww... *fawns*

I hate filling these things out...

My thanks :)
